A full day lift pass for an adult will cost you between 45 and 75 dollars. Most places will have ski schools with qualified instructors. You can rent out all the equipment you`ll need. Ski hire ranges from 29 to 37 dollars and a snowboard will cost you between 35 and 50 dollars.
Nordic Skiing is practiced quite a lot on South Island, especially near Wanaka. Many of New Zealand`s mountains are now being opened up for ski-planes & heliskiing. The Tasman Glacier is one such area. It has 13km of deep powder, as well as some amazing views.
