Getting to Piha is part of the Piha experience. There is a locally owned and operated airport transfer service. Peter will greet you at the airport in his surf shuttle, after a 50 minute drive, he will deliver you safely to the door of where ever you wish to go in Piha, and probably come in for a cup of tea too. If you are travelling with your own car or a hired campervan or motorhome, don't forget to top up with gas at West Auckland’s charming Titirangi Village, (Piha has no gas station), you turn left at the roundabout at the end of the village, heading towards the stunning Waitakere Ranges Regional Park. Make a stop at the Arataki Visitors Center and pick up info and maps for the many walks and hiking trails throughout the Waitakere Ranges. There are some magnificent views as you pass through the park before you come around a bend in the road that opens up to a stunning coastal view. |
