Nelson Lakes

Nelson Lakes National Park is located in the Nelson region on the South Island of New Zealand.

There are a number of options for getting to and away from Nelson.

Travelling by car

Nelson is situated on State Highway 6, in the north of the South Island of New Zealand. It is 104 km south-east of Picton. You can either take the scenic coast route through Havelock, or the faster route down State Highway 1 through Blenheim. Turning onto State Highway 6, and then State Highway 63, will take you to Nelson. If you are travelling from The West Coast, Nelson is 224 km north-east of Westport on State Highway 6.
